The storm in the morning managed to persuade me to stay for another night. Life isn&#8217;t a race<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day 2<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The weather still wasn&#8217;t great. I decided to take a jeep to the lake and stayed at the lake for a night<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"979\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-71.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5039\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">my private room has a fire stove. how lovely. I was completely soaked. Though I was really hungry so I asked for more rice<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day 3<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Waking up on a sunny note<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"979\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-78.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5046\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">breakfast<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1740\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-79.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5047\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I decided to walk down to the lake<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1740\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-80.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5048\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After that I checked out and went back to Latacunga<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"979\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-81.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5049\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">$2 snack. I didn&#8217;t bring enough cash and had to let the seller &#8220;borrow&#8221; my hostel key while I went to get cash. Trust in this part of the world really doesn&#8217;t exist<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Later I met up with an Italian where I bumped into during the Quilotoa loop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"979\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-82.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5050\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Of course, the most important thing at dinner is drinking a German beer.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1740\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-84.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5052\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">dinner is pretty nice for $7<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day 4<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cotopaxi here I come. Managed to book a tour with an Argentinian for $35 to tour Cotopaxi including a lunch, a private driver and a tour guide. The Argentinian is a mid-level manager at a telecom company, speaks good English and very well mannered just like everyone else from his country<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"979\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-85.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5053\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">I miss my long hair. The last part of the tour was the lake which I didn&#8217;t enjoy as much due to the storm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1740\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-100.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5068\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We quickly had lunch and were dropped back to our hostel where I took a nap and ready for dinner gathering<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1740\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-101.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5069\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day 5<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Travel day back to Quito. Found a Korean hostel to chill<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1740\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-102.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5070\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A cultural museum<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"979\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-103.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5071\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After grabbing happy hours with the Italian, I headed back the Italian guy to the most famous attraction Pichincha Volcano<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1740\" height=\"1305\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.buyuchen.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/image-105.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5073\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Morning coffee at the terrace of my hostel where I could oversee the city park<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then it&#8217;s the cable car ride<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" Conchas de Negra! Delicious<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Took a long walk to the Garden<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1740\"
