As much as I would like to go visit Chile and Argentina. I’ve decided to take a job home. That in turns translates to cutting my travel short, or rather getting my life back to “normal”. The burglary and the aftermath of it meant that I was far from being normal. I was running away and I was scared to go home. I figured, staying with folks I’ve met during this travel could somehow help with my journey home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is, I decided to go to Peru again and eventually later to El Salvador simply wanting to spend time with people I know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sunny Sunday again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Managed to convince a German to go to town with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

$2.5 breakfast. Protein for the win haha. The German is a vegetarian<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We wandered to some museums<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arriving at Chiclayo. The northern food capital of Peru. At the immigration, a Police officer was very happy to help (He’s Chinese descent) and could speak fluent English to help me translate. He even spoke some Chinese with me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s an interesting part of the country where you rarely see Asian tourists. Yet, you can feel the energy from locals whose ancestors might share with where I am from. Everyone seemed to be eager to tell me someone he knows is a Chinese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bus to Chan Chan – another ingenious ruin<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Found a restaurant that’s recommended by a tour guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was phenomenal for like $7. Full quarter duck <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Afternoon was to see another ruin in the region<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those were artifacts from Moche era. Peru simply had way too much ancient civilizations. It’s a shame only Incan is widely known and broadcasted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 5<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Very long bus ride to Huaraz to see a German who’s volunteering there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally some green space in which I know I am getting close to the Andes <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The amount of Chinese restaurants in town was insane. Of course, the reunion lunch was Chinese<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We spent quite a few hours after dinner to catch up. We were both excited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 6<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Even at this rainy season, there’s beautiful blue sky almost everyday. How incredible<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Chatted with a French lady who’s volunteering at a Children’s center. I’d say as much as how I wanted to complain this hostel was dominated by French – largely due to the owner is from Belgium, I want to say every single French I’ve met was incredibly nice and lovely. Why didn’t I study French and move to Europe?)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The middle woman is from Spain. She works at a emergency room in a hospital as a physician. She’s older than me too. This is where I love travelling, you meet people from all backgrounds. No status quo whatsoever <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
