Haven’t posted for a while due to my extended summer “break”. I put quotes since it was merely my half-ass attempt to find employment that ultimately led to gaining nothing in return.
I tried to convince myself I didn’t just waste all the past 4-month doing nothing, I couldn’t. I had a few plans ranging from visiting Alaska to Banff, and fall camping around Oregon. I somehow found excuses not to pursue them.
Here I am, a few hours before departing to South America, sharing some remembrance of past months.
July –
Started off getting invited for a fancy dinner from my former mentee. It was an expensive dinner, $>500USD probably. I was obviously delighted

Next was Independence Day, I was lucky enough to be invited to my great friend’s house.

Lots of food from my Asian friends

Local trail where eagles nesting

Birthday party

Me trying to be an electronic guru to fix my soundbar. It was a success

Me attempting some cheak meat BBQ

My beloved trail near my house

My favorite local hike

Just like that July turned into August
August
First then first was to pay Mt. Rainier a visit:

Unfortunately, good weather comes with trade-off in recent years – smoke.

Then on it’s a combination of overcast.

Followed by a heat wave:

and more cooking

September
Full time job search

Days are getting shorter, and one last hike for the year.

October
by this time, I should have really wrapped up my interviews as originally planned. Somehow, I was hoping for miracles.

Sun is overshadowed by clouds.

Very last picture of the Puget sound

Just like that. October is brought to an end.
Winter is here.
That is a great summary and sounds like a nice use of time to enjoy the summer and fall we had.
It was an honor to invite you to our house for Independence Day, our great friend! That is polite of you to not include my face without asking. You could include it, though. What great memories, drinks, and spices we had that day!
Have an amazing time in South America. I look forward to hearing your stories! Good luck when you resume the job search.
